About
My name is James Singleton. I am beginning my 10th year teaching at Reading. I have taught 8th grade American History each year and have also taught 9th grade Modern World History. Prior to that I was a substitute teacher in the Northwest School District from 2011-2014. I received my undergrad degree from Northern Kentucky University in 2011 and my master's degree from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2019.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time outside fishing and boating. I am a big sports fan! I love UK basketball, the Reds, and Bengals! I listen to country music and enjoy following politics. I have a lot of experience with baseball. I have coached at the little league level and now am the head JV coach for Reading's High School baseball team. I am a certified high school baseball and fast-pitch softball official and have umpired games at the high school level since 2008. In the summer time, I operate summer baseball camps as the Owner of MVP Baseball Academy LLC.
I married my best friend, Alicia in June of 2014. We have two boys. Our oldest son, Bentley turns 7 in August and is starting the 1st grade. My youngest, Maverick is 4 and beginning his second year of pre-school.
